What we know:

Every time a woman fails at a diet she ingrains in her consciousness that:

  • she is a failure
  • something is wrong with her
  • something is wrong with her body.

The more time someone solidifies that belief system, the less likely they are to have self-confidence, to create the life they'd like to have.  Examples:  won’t take risks, will stay in a relationship that isn’t working, will play it safe in business, less likely to take chances, and less effective in their communication (functioning from victim/blame mentality.)

Guilt, shame, fear are the underlying factors in any decision they make.  They are less confident, less sex drive, libido goes down, metabolism slows down, they are less present in daily activities, frustration and shame builds, anxiety goes up, and are less self- confident.

Children do what they see…not what we say….so if they are witnessing us beat ourselves up and not celebrating our beauty, then they learn to put themselves down, not celebrate their successes or their beauty.  They internalize lack and not enough, they start to put themselves down and they start to doubt their choices which permeates into every other area of their lives. This creates a down trodden spiral that is hard to recover from.
